Bio

Operations Manager for Austin Hill Partners, Michael joined the team in March 2020 to incorporate his passion for DC history and architecture while leveraging years of service as a military officer and healthcare professional. Born into a military family, he understands and strongly believes in the highest level of service. He has also always been fascinated with historic architecture and first fell in love with DC ’s storied homes and streets in 2003.  This love brought him to DC full-time in 2007 to attend graduate school at The George Washington University earning his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2010. For ten years, he has treated clients in the District while living and enjoying DC ’s unique big city, small town vibe. Michael is a 2001 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT with five years of active duty service and 13 years as a reservist. He is currently a commander leading the Reserve Component at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans as the Senior Reserve Officer.

Michael is a passionate and seasoned traveler, visiting 75 countries to date. His favorite place to marvel and ponder historic buildings and homes are the cobbled stoned streets and alleys of Lisbon, Portugal.  And as a Louisiana native, he loves the creole cottages and shotgun homes of New Orleans’ French Quarter. Michael is also passionate about animals and trees. He is an avid supporter and volunteer for both DC’s Humane Rescue Alliance (HRA) and Casey Trees, watering newly planted trees in LeDroit Park and around the residential streets of Bloomingdale. Michael adopted his dog Coty from the Washington Animal Rescue League (now HRA) and encourages his friends and family to adopt shelter animals.
